The further development for additive production technologies can come from the development of new materials, both metallic and polymeric, with improved properties.

The Laboratory develops innovative polymeric materials characterized by high-performance mechanical and functional properties for industrial applications and production of functional parts. The research group develops: photocurable resins for stereolithography and DLP; thermoplastic polymers for FDM.

Additionally, the Lab. is a characterization center for AM metallic powder: the powder properties, in fact, (microstructure, flowability, chemical composition, granulometry, rheological behavior) have a significant effect on the mechanical properties of printed pieces.
